Twitter Vs Yahoo Meme Features Advantages and Disadvantages

We already have found a lot of similarities between Yahoo’s new Service Yahoo Meme & Twitter but lets now compare each of these services in detail and find out which is better and in what way.
Few Reasons why you shouldn’t waste your time on Yahoo! Meme.
  • Yahoo! launched a social-networking site — Mash — two summers ago. It shut it down less than a year later.
  • GeoCities offered free, ad-supported hosting for some of the Web’s earliest pioneer settlers. It lasted a few years, but the settlements were ultimately razed. Eviction notices were sent out in April.
  • Anyone who relied on Yahoo! Briefcase for data storage got a rude awakening this year, when the online giant shut that service down in March. Yahoo! Photos went to the darkroom in the sky two years ago.
In short, Yahoo! hates you and everything you do. Why would anyone trust a new Yahoo! product with user-generated content?
Yahoo Meme Interface
Yahoo Meme Interface
Character Limits While Twitters allows you to ‘Tweet’ only a maximum of 140 Characters in any message , Yahoo Meme has got almost no limits on this which is a excellent feature and useful for people who love to make quick blog posts and twitter seems to be just a place where you can easily post links and few words.
Mobile Updations Twitter is a service known for Real Time Search Results and news updations because members can instantly Tweet from multiple devices like Computer, Mobile etc and they just need to have a Internet enabled mobile phone or else send SMS Messages and Tweet or reply to others. While in Yahoo Meme you cannot use it on any other Interface except Online Computer because its not available for SMS users.
Direct Messages Twitters allows you to send a DM to your Followers and talk to them in private in regards to anything you want to discuss on. While Yahoo Meme has no feature as such and you need to post everything in Public and there is no privacy left.
Images, Videos & Music This is the only real good feature available in Yahoo Meme where in you can easily upload / embed any of these services and post them on your Profile Page. Twitter does not allow this and you need to use 3rd party websites like twitpic.com and youtube.com’s embed links for Tweeting Purpose.
Themes Twitter allows you to upload custom themes or else select any one from the big list while Yahoo Meme offers you only a selected number of themes.
While Yahoo had already seen the complete growth of Twitter, they could have atleast offered services which Twitter offers along with added features and other stuff like Importing your Twitter settings, or Tweets which could have made many people signup and use Yahoo Meme. Also Yahoo should have linked this service with Flickr, Yahoo Mail, Delicious and so on and made it get as much publicity it
